William Alfred Nu'utupu Giles

A Samoan American, Giles William Alfred Nu‘utupu is from Honolulu. He is a Kundiman fellow and studied with the First Wave program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Nu’utupu Giles is a Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam champion and the 2015 National Underground Poetry Slam champion. He was named one of “Six Pacific Islander Poets You Should Know” by Craig Santos Perez on the website Literary Hub and featured in a profile of emerging writers from the Pacific Islander poetry community on NBC. He is workshop coordinator for the literary nonprofit Pacific Tongues on Oahu.
