Michael Magee

Michael Magee earned a BA from the College of the Holy Cross and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Morning Constitutional (2001), MS (2003), Mainstream (2006), and My Angie Dickinson (2007). Magee participated in Flarf, a collage-based collaborative movement that creates poems by pulling from Internet texts, such as Google search results or chat rooms. As a scholar, Magee also wrote Emancipating Pragmatism (2004) on experimental writing, African American culture, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Magee edited an issue of Combo that focused on Flarf poetry. He has taught at Wheaton College, Haverford College, and the Rhode Island School of Design. He lives in Rhode Island, where he works at an educational nonprofit.
