Kathy Fagan
Kathy Fagan is the author of the poetry collections Bad Hobby (Milkweed Editions, 2022); Sycamore (Milkweed, 2017), a finalist for the 2018 Kingsley Tufts Award; and MOVING & ST RAGE (University of North Texas Press, 1999), which won the 1998 Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry.
Fagan’s work has appeared in publications including The Atlantic, the New York Times Sunday Magazine, Poetry, The Nation, The New Republic, Kenyon Review, the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-A-Day, the Pushcart Prize Anthology, and Best American Poetry. A 2023–24 Guggenheim Fellow, she has held Frost Place and MacDowell residencies, and received support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ingram Merrill Foundation, and the Ohio Arts Council. Fagan cofounded the MFA program in creative writing at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, where she teaches poetry and coedits The Journal Charles B. Wheeler Poetry Prize Series.
