Jordan Smith is the author of seven collections of poetry: An Apology for Loving the Old Hymns (Princeton University Press, 1982); Lucky Seven (Wesleyan University Press, 1988); The Household of Continuance (Copper Beech Press, 1992); For Appearances (University of Tampa Press, Tampa Review Poetry Prize, 2002); The Names of Things Are Leaving (University of Tampa Press, 2006); The Light in the Film (University of Tampa Press, 2011); and Clare's Empire (The Hydroelectric Press, 2014). Smith is also the author of three chapbooks: Three Grange Halls (Swan Scythe Press, Swan Scythe Chapbook Prize, 2002); Greatest Hits (Pudding House Press, 2003); The Flute is Zero (Right Hand Pointing, online, 2006). He lives in upstate New York and teaches at Union College.
