Jermaine Nolen is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist, writer and poet based in Chicago, Illinois. Born and raised in Auburn Gresham on the city’s South Side, his creative work draws deeply from his community and ancestral legacy. He earned a BA in broadcast journalism from Columbia College Chicago in 2020 and pursued graduate studies at DePaul University. Nolen’s visual arts practice merges elements of minimalism and abstract expressionism through acrylic paintings on stretched canvas, exploring perception and spatial ambiguity. He pairs this with poetic expressions that dialogue with his visual work to evoke introspection and emotional resonance.
