Chicago Soul Poem: A City That Writes Together
The Chicago Soul Poem: A City That Writes Together project invites Chicagoans to pay tribute to a person, place, or thing that is indicative of the Second City through the form of a soloem. A soloem (pronounced so-lo-em) is a new poetic form, created by Chicago Poet Laureate, avery r. young. Join young at the Poetry Foundation for live performances and a screening of 31 videos from poets who submitted soloems to the project.

E’Mon Lauren, Elgin Smith and avery r. young discuss the one to capture from her soloem film shoot.
