Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I want to both congratulate and thank you for the gift that has been the December issue of Poetry. Recent issues have showcased skilled poets, whose words have told me about things I didn’t know and have enjoyed. The December issue is something rare that reminds me why I read both poetry and Poetry. The selected poets—especially Joan Houlihan—have not only shown and told me things I did not know, but have done things with language I had not thought possible. This issue will have a spot on my table for many months to come.
