One of your crickets said that he loves to learn things when reading poetry. Here is something your readers should learn regarding John Hodgen’s poem “For the man with the erection lasting more than four hours” [July/August 2009]: I have cured such a man with an operation. Pre-op it hurt like fury because of a lack of oxygen to the tissues for two days. I made a wide window between the corpus cavernosum and the corpus spongiosum bilaterally. It worked. He can actually have intercourse and the erection deflates. Both his father and his brother had the same thing. None of these men would consider himself “cock of the walk” during these episodes. This is no fun.
