Dear readers,
We’re pleased to announce our March 2021 issue, “Young People’s Poetry,” edited by the Poetry Foundation’s Young People’s Poets Laureate: Margarita Engle, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Jacqueline Woodson. It’s been wonderful to see this issue come together over the past two years. We hope the poems and illustrations speak to the young people inside everyone and that you’ll share them widely. We’ve made a complimentary PDF available for download here and the issue is also free in the Poetry Magazine App. As always, the issue is freely available on our website.
Our April 2021 issue is being printed as we speak and will arrive in your mailbox (or inbox) in time for National Poetry Month. It will be the final issue under our shared coeditorship. The May 2021 issue is already underway and marks the first of three edited by Ashley M. Jones. If you’re interested in submitting work for our upcoming issues, we are open for submissions. You can find more information here, including calls for video and audio poems.
Happy reading,
Fred, Holly, and Lindsay
